Making the Best Burgers I've Ever Tasted
So, yesterday I was really wanting cheeseburgers and decided I would try and make my own recipe based on little tips I received from various cooks. Everyone has their preferences, but these very well may be the best burgers I've had in a VERY long time.
Ingredients:
- 1lbs ground beef
- 3 strips of bacon (uncooked)
- 1/4 whole white onion
- salt and pepper to taste (I generally use about a tbsp per pound of meat)
- brioche bun
- Cheese of your choice (optional)
- Any other condiments (optional)
Steps
Step One: Set burner to medium-high heat and place a flat pan (preferably cast iron, but just use whatever you have. Make sure you have enough space)
Step Two: Use a food processor to combine ground beef, bacon, salt and white onion. Blend until completely mixed together
Step Three: Spread out parchment paper and make little balls of the ground meat and place them onto the parchment paper like you're making cookies.
Step Four: Get another sheet of parchment paper to cover the meat balls then use a cutting board to press the patties flat
Step Five: For the sake of convenience, use a pair of scissors to cut the parchment paper into squares to give each patty it's own square. This will be nice for easily flipping the patty onto the skillet.
Step Six: Toast brioche directly onto the skillet, do not use mayo or butter on the bun if you want to have the best texture. Remove and place onto a plate
Step Seven: Take your parchment paper with the patty on it (parchment should be on your palm), then flip it onto the skillet so it's parchment paper-side up, remove the parchment paper
Step Eight: Let cook for 30 seconds, flip the patty, add fresh cracked pepper over the top and place a slice of cheese if you wanted some over the top of the patty and let cook for another 30 seconds.
Step Nine: Remove patty and let sit on a cutting board or plate to let the patty rest.
Step Ten: Add condiments of your choosing to the bun and then place the patty onto the bun and enjoy!
Presto! There you have a delicious burger. For my burger I usually will do sauteed mushrooms, garlic aoli, and bacon for my toppers, but feel free to use whatever you'd like for your burger.
This is version 1 of this recipe, so I may alter it depending on experimentation. Hope you enjoy it next time you decide to make burgers!
