For my favorite unconventional animal, I choose the one thing from Australia that isn't trying to kill you... probably. I give you... the Quokka!
These fuzzy little guys are part of the marsupials family, joining the ranks of the Kangaroo and it's short king cousin, the Wallaby.
Why did I choose the Quokka as my favorite unconventional animal? Just look at this fuckin thing. Need I say more?
Despite dingos and feral cats wanting to turn these little guys into a 3-course dinner, they are pretty approachable for humans. Although they have been known to occasionally beef with humans, especially kids. So, watch your fingers, unless you want them to literally become finger food.
While not endangered, they're technically considered "threatened". Which means I will personally strangle anything that dares threaten these pudgy little bastards.
May the Quokka only know peace.
